Warrington based logistics group Stobart has announced a £75m deal for its biomass division to supply a new power station in Northern Ireland.
The Evermore plant is to be built in Londonderry and completed by summer 2015; Stobart will supply the site with 115,000 tonnes of recycled wood each year, over a 15 year contract.
Stobart employs more than 1,000 staff at its Warrington transport depot and its Widnes/Runcorn multi-modal hub.
The group launched its biomass division in 2010 and it is now one of the country’s leading processors, suppliers and transporters of biomass fuels.
